Kim's Restaurant at Kim's Asian Market is a hidden gem nestled in Raleigh, NC. Patrons rave about the spicy squid and pork, a dish that consistently garners attention for its bold flavors. Customers appreciate the variety on offer, such as the vegetable dumplings and bibimbap, specially prepared to cater to vegan diets with thoughtful modifications. The dukboki is also a standout, touted as the best many have experienced.
Freshness and flavor define the dining experience at Kim’s. The presentation may be simple, yet it's the robust taste that leaves a lasting impression. Diners often highlight the short ribs, balancing savory and slightly sweet flavors, as a must-try. The restaurant provides a casual dining atmosphere with efficient self-service, although some feel the setup resembles a cafeteria more than a traditional restaurant, which may raise questions about pricing.
Despite the cramped setting, the welcoming staff and clean environment enhance the experience. Diners frequently leave with leftovers, making every visit feel worthwhile. Whether you're a Korean cuisine enthusiast or a newcomer, Kim's offers a delightful journey of authentic flavors that’s hard to resist.

The spicy squid and pork is amazing and got everyone else’s attention when I got my order. Also their Taiyaki is now my favorite dessert in NC no kidding.

The staff are so incredibly sweet. Turns out several of the dishes with tofu have some sort of anima product in their broth or sauce, but the cashier helped me figure out what dishes can be made vegan: vegetable dumplings, bibimbap with tofu no egg, kimchi fried rice with tofu no egg. Our food arrived quicky. It was very flavorful and the portions were large.

Food is amazing!! I wouldn’t really cal lit a restaurant inside the store it’s more like a cafeteria. You have to go pick your food up and put your tray back when your done. You get your own silverware and styrofoam cup and condiments and for this reason the price is way too high. The dukboki is the best I’ve ever had.

I’ve been here twice now and the food has been great both. Presentations look simple but it’s fresh and has great flavors. I love the Korean rice cake dishes so this one was pretty good. Spicy but not too spicy. I also recommend the short ribs. Savory with a touch of sweetness. I do think it’s worth the price since we always leave with leftovers. Half a point off bc it gets really stuffy inside. Hopefully they can expand and give the customers a bit more room. I would definitely come back to try their chicken wings.

I didn’t grocery shop but I walked around and it was very clean and organized. The restaurant was delicious and I loved the simple self service when you dine in. Great authentic Korean food!

Saturdays, they make fresh kimbop rolls. So delicious. Seafood pancakes were amazing. My favorite was the short rib soup.

Kim’s Restaurant is truly a hidden gem, and it easily serves the best Korean food I’ve had in the entire RTP area. The flavors here are authentic, bold, and unforgettable. The squid and pork dish is an absolute standout—it’s a must-have for anyone visiting. Unlike other places where the sauce can be too sweet or overpowering, this dish is perfectly balanced. The savory flavors come through beautifully, making every bite more delicious than the last. Another highlight was the seafood noodle soup. The spice level was spot on, not overwhelming but just enough to give it that perfect kick, while still allowing the fresh, seafood flavors to shine through. The broth was rich and flavorful, and it’s clear a lot of care went into crafting this dish. One of the best things about Kim’s is that the portion sizes are very generous, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to other Korean restaurants in the area. You get incredible value for your money, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. It’s hard to find such great food at these prices, especially with portions that will leave you fully satisfied. From the moment you walk in, the incredible aroma hits you, promising an authentic dining experience. You can immediately tell that this is the real deal, especially if you’re familiar with traditional Korean or Asian cuisine. Every dish we tried was delicious, and it’s easy to see the attention to detail in the cooking. If you’re in the mood for top-tier Korean food, this is the place to go. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic flavors, quality dishes, and great value. Kim’s Restaurant deserves all the praise—it’s a place I’ll be coming back to often!

The food here is very good! I got the dolsot bibimbap. The bowl was sizzling hot and it made the rice at the bottom very crispy. The spicy squid was also very good. The entrees came with miso soup and sides, like kimchi. It’s a casual restaurant connected to the Korean market. You pay at the front and it’s self serve pick-up at the kitchen window.
